My best photo? I haven’t taken it yet. Every moment in nature could surpass the last.

So far this year, it’s my white-tailed eagle from a photography trip. Technically solid, yes—but more importantly, it represents hours of waiting, patience, and respect for the subject.

Photographs like this remind us why nature matters. Rare species exist only if habitats are protected, and a single image can make people stop and look. The best photo is still ahead—and that’s why I’ll keep going back.

After years of chasing light in forests and wetlands, I’ve stepped into the world of astrophotography with a Sky-Watcher HEQ5 Pro mount. Photographing the Moon, Andromeda, and a few comets has shown me how challenging it is to capture the night sky with just a fixed tripod. Now, with a tracking mount and plenty to learn, I’m starting from scratch — but that’s exactly what makes it exciting.
