A New Beginning: My Photo Site Goes Live

After years of photographing nature quietly, just for myself, I finally took a leap and set up a site 2 years ago. My selected platform was WordPress, and at the beginning, it was easy. But after a while, with all its plugins and tuning, it became a bit of a hassle for me. And when I decided to sell my photos, setting up a store was difficult. So I decided to switch over to Squarespace, and here I am. I am starting fresh right now.

Setting up this site has been both exciting and nerve-wracking. I’m using WordPress, which I chose for its clean design and ease of use. But as many of you know, it’s not free — maintaining the site comes with a monthly subscription cost. For a nature photographer like me, who does this out of passion rather than profit, that’s a meaningful expense.

So, here’s the deal: I’ve opened a small digital photo shop on this site. Every photo you see here is available as a high-resolution download — ready for prints, publications, or personal use. My hope is that over time, I’ll be able to cover the site’s costs through photo sales, and maybe even justify keeping it going long-term.

To be honest, I don’t expect a flood of sales. But if even one person finds value in one of my photos — enough to support it — that would mean the world. Not just because it helps with the subscription fee, but because it’s a sign that these moments I’ve captured in the wild resonate with someone else.

In the meantime, I’ll continue posting blog entries like this one: small stories from the field, gear notes, thoughts on bird photography, and whatever else comes up along the way. If you enjoy the photos or the writing, feel free to share or leave a comment — it really helps.

Thanks for stopping by. Let’s see where this goes.
